INVISIBLE DISCRIMINATION RELATED TO LGBTQ+

O projekcie

👉 Today’s word from the PrEcIOUS Glossary: Ally / LGBTQIA+ allyshipAs part of the PrEcIOUS project – Promoting pluralistic education in European universities to combat invisible discrimination related to LGBTQIA+ – we’re sharing 40 key words to help build a more inclusive and aware community.Ally / LGBTQIA+ allyship The practice exercised by people outside the LGBTQIA+ community of confronting heterosexism, sexism, genderism, allosexism, and monosexism in themselves and others, out of both self-interest and concern for the well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual people. It is based on the understanding that dismantling heterosexism, monosexism, trans oppression/trans misogyny/cissexism and allosexism is a social justice issue. Allies disrupt and educate in oppressive spaces and must constantly work to educate themselves about the communities they support.By learning these words, we take small but meaningful steps towards breaking down stereotypes and fostering a culture of respect and diversity.Check out our glossary series to explore more words that matter. preciousproject.eu/glossary-2/#PrEcIOUSProject #LGBTQIA #Inclusion #Plurality #Equality #Diversity #LearnToInclude #InclusiveEducation #EuropeanProjects #ErasmusPlus See MoreSee Less

🎙️“Understanding, Engaging, Changing” – Interview with Maria Vittoria Moncada Hernandez and Piyarat Punpoosa | PrEcIOUS ProjectHow did students from the University of Siena experience the international training week of the PrEcIOUS Project – Promoting pluralistic education to combat invisible discrimination in European universities? In this interview, Maria Vittoria Moncada Hernandez and Piyarat Punpoosa share their personal reflections: a meaningful exchange with peers from across Europe and a chance to explore themes often overlooked in university life, such as subtle homophobia and everyday microaggressions.🎓 “What we take away from this experience,” they explain, “is a wealth of human and cultural growth. We listened to stories very different from our own, engaged with new perspectives, and learned that inclusion isn’t abstract – it’s something we build every day, through small actions.”💡 The training gave them practical tools to better interpret the social context around them and to imagine ways of improving inclusion policies within their universities.Watch the full interview in the video below 🎥Project Info: www.preciousproject.eu/#PrEcIOUSproject #InclusiveUniversities #SienaMobility #LGBTQIAinHE #DiversityInAcademia #StudentVoicesMatter #EuropeanEducation See MoreSee Less
